A Party That Went Awry - Shalya Purohit KIS, Noida

After burning the midnight oil for my exams, I organized a party and all my friends were invited. Finally, the D-day arrived, but unfortunately my cake was delayed, the entire onus of responsibility was on me. I had to engage my friends in a plethora of activities.

It was the right time to start the magic show and games. The magician exclaimed that he would turn that flag into a cheerleader pom-pom, but to our utter delight, it turned into a stuffed teddy bear. Everyone busted into laughter, all of us were uncomfortable by the heart and were sweating profusely.

To add to our vows, my friend got her pet dog who was mistakenly unleashed. The music suddenly stopped, creating an awkward silence, leaving us in unexpected quietude. Some balloons popped, the immediate reaction of a knee jerk spilling all the drinks created a slippery chaos on the dance floor.

A few elderly guests crashed unskilled, and the night that began with a frenzy of excitement ended in a cacophony of disappointment and regrets. The party had indeed turned awry, but not without giving us our moments of euphoria and levity.
